Siklenka overtime winner gives Bears 5th straight win
Dave Leaderhouse Photo It was a special weekend for a pair of Prince Albert Mann Northway Northern Bears sponsors as one was the benefactor of the other’s generosity. SGEU generously covered the cost of the Bears wearing a “third jersey” for two league games against the Saskatoon Stars and when the games were done those jerseys were then auctioned off and raised more than $4,000 for the Prince Albert YWCA’s Rendalyn Home. Both SGEU and the YWCA have been long-time supporters of the Bears with this being the third time SGEU has sponsored a “third jersey” while the YWCA has been behind the Bears for more than a decade. Shown in the photo are Hali Topinka, left, the Human Services Component Chair for Public Services with SGEU, and Wendy Sundbo, manager YWCA youth homes, and Joyce Paradis, far right, manager of Rendalyn Home displaying the commemorative sweaters they were presented for their participation in the event.
