Steve young

Steve who hails from Prince Albert, SK is in his third season as head coach of the Northern Bears. Steve brings vast knowledge and experience as he has been coaching hockey for nearly 30 years.

Over the years he has been fortunate enough to fulfill his passion, coaching hockey, both male and female hockey teams, from minor to major junior hockey (WHL). Steve enjoys helping athletes on and off the ice, helping them grow and develop as both good people and players.

Steve has been named coach of the year in the SJHL, SHA, and PAMH.

HEAD COACH

ColtEn Smith

Colten is entering his second season as assistant coach with the Bears. This is his fifth year coaching at the youth hockey levels. Spent his first two seasons coaching U15 prep hockey in Airdrie, Alberta followed by one season coaching U13 AA in Moose Jaw.

Colten's hockey career ended with a year at the U20 level in Nynäshamn, Sweden, and two years at the Jr. A level in Temiscaming, Quebec. Since finishing his playing career Colten has dedicated his time and efforts to helping youth athletes reach their goals both on and off the ice. Colten prides himself on being able to connect and help all athletes reach their fullest potential.
